Meta Platforms is building a $27 billion data center campus in Richland Parish, Louisiana, that could scale to 5 GW of power demand and become its largest facility to date. The Turner-DPR-Mortenson team is building out the 4-million-sq-ft, multi-building campus. Meta has reached an agreement with Entergy Louisiana to fund new energy infrastructure, including seven natural-gas power plants totaling more than 5.2 GW and roughly 240 miles of transmission lines. CEO Mark Zuckerberg described the site as large enough to cover a significant portion of Manhattan. GCs, MEP subs, and power generation contractors should pursue subcontract and supply opportunities on this massive project.
