QTS Data Centers topped out its 193-acre data center campus in Eagle Mountain, Utah, placing the final beam with roughly 2,000 construction workers on site. Layton Construction is the general contractor on the $6 billion project, which includes three buildings ranging from 579,000 to 592,000 square feet under construction since last fall and expected to complete later this year. The campus uses a closed-loop cooling system requiring only a one-time water fill, eliminating ongoing water consumption for cooling. QTS estimates 100 permanent jobs once fully operational. Subs and vendors should target ongoing fit-out and MEP work across all three buildings.
